On second thought

I’m not saying the Stones are going to win the Central, but how worried about the Bulls are you? Will they be able to score on anyone? I’m not a Deng fan, and I think Pargo’s a lot more limited than Gordon. Even if Rose rises to Chris Paul levels in his second year, I don’t see how they compete in the East.

  1. Kenny Says:

Yea after the top 3 teams in the East, I think we are right there with everybody else. We have a lot of question marks. But so does everybody else.

I think I would actually drop Orlando out of the conversation with Cleveland and Boston. Dwight Howard might be the face of their team, and their anchor on Defense but he is still not a good offensive player. They ran a huge, huge percentage of their offense through Hedo. Vince Carter might be a better player when he’s healthy and motivated, but I dont’ know if he can do what Hedo provided for them.

Everybody thought Atlanta would take a big step forward after they took Boston to 7 games two years ago, and they were a little better last year, but hardly a contender. I don’t think they are young enough to expect them to make leaps and bounds improvement this season. Bibby and Johnson are veterans. Josh Smith has been around quite a few years, Horford I suppose can make some strides. They are athletic, but they aren’t consistent.

It will be interesting to see if the Heat add anyone to their roster. Obviously if Dwade plays like he played last year they are going to be a playoff team. Chalmers and Beasley will probably be better, but J’Oneal is basically a role player at this point in his career. They don’t have a lot else, not sure if Odom would make them a contender or not. He’s obviously a good player, and could play both the 3 and 4 for them, but I don’t know if he’s enough of a difference maker to put them into contention.

I don’t see any reason why the Pistons can’t fall into the same category as these teams.
