Am I a plagiarist?

The NYT’s Maureen Dowd stole a paragraph from an e-mail from her friend (she claims) who had stolen it from Talking Points Memo. That’s not good, because she gets paid to publish her original thoughts.

Hopefully you folks haven’t been plagiarizing people in your e-mails to me, because, in the way the antifreeze you pour into the sewer drain makes its voyage to the Atlantic, it’s all going to end up in my novel.

it isn’t plagiarizing if you are sleeping with the Primary Source….or in my case, a librarian.
