McCain and I agree

Not even April 1 related either!

This is awkward though:

McCain feels Johnson was wronged by a 1913 conviction of violating the Mann Act by having a consensual relationship with a white woman — a conviction widely seen as racially motivated. (emphasis mine)

Uhhh, why widely? Why not universally? Who doesn’t think that prosecuting a black man for dating a white woman was racially motivated? How else could it be motivated? Were the authorities of the time against heterosexual relationships?

right, i should have said that i agree that jack johnson got screwed. not that pardoning him will matter.

that being said, the republican technique of focusing on 30 gs while we’re minting literally TRILLIONS of dollars seems ridiculous to me. but maybe it’s the only way to get on cable.

I think it just goes to show Congress’ happiness in spending our money, regardless of the dollar amount.

  4. Kenny Says:

we’re not actually minting trillions of dollars. We’re just borrowing it from China

It just seems insane to me that it has taken Jack Johnson the boxer this long to get pardoned while Jack Johnson the musician roams free…
