We don’t want you?

Zach isn’t a fan of facebook group “Up North – Michigan.”

If you LOVE to go Up North or just flat out go Up North in MICHIGAN, then JOIN THIS PAGE AND BECOME A FAN!! INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!!!!!!

We grew up Up North, so we obviously have eternal street cred (or lack thereof, as the case may be.)

Zach:

want to start an anti fans of fans of ‘up north michigan’ ?

i hate that crap.

Zach:

screw all those down state people that are in it, start a “we dont want you around” group.

But those people come around and finance the way of life we led growing up. They kept the record store and hotels I worked in alive. Aside from cherry festival week, when it gets ridiculously overwhelming and crazy, I enjoyed seeing new people flock into our sleepy tourist town. Where does the antipathy come from?

I agree with Jerry on tourists. Sure it’s annoying when town gets crowded, but northern Michigan is a lot better off with them than it would be without them.

As to the facebook group, Facebook in general is starting to annoy me. I’ve been contemplating deactivation.

what about facebook is bothering you?

  3. Kenny Says:

mostly that my boss, both my parents, and many of my aunts/uncles all have accounts.

And that somebody invites me to add an application or joing a group or attend an event every day.

yeah man. if anyone wanted to go up north, they might as well live there. there’s plenty of fine real estate for those with the entrepreneurial spirit. and hold on, let me check the weather today:

    “15°?!

Nothing a few shots couldn’t fix”

it’s like they actually know how traverse city people think in the wintertime.

facebook is lame. i like being more anonymous, i don’t want everyone knowing who i am, where i live, who my freinds are, what i do, where i go, how big of a shit i took this morning, etc.

i’m fine with the fudgies, although when i worked at 7/11 on munson ave and a guy came in and asked me “where is the cherry festival?” that was a little annoying.

reese has the perfect fb solution. can remain anonymous like pat and still can creep around looking at everyone else by using my account.
