I’m getting defensive

Ron Jaworski is always the Monday guest on Pardon the Interruption, and he often has good stuff to say about the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE (in his words.)

Anyway, today, when discussing the problems of the Arizona Cardinals’ defense, he said (I’m paraphrasing): When teams adopt finesse, pass-dominated offenses, they often become finesse teams in their entirety. Their defense stops being able to hit people, because they’ve started finessing opponents on offense. What the hell does that mean? Is this just old-school football nonsense? Is there some kind of hidden truth that I’m not macho enough to understand here?
