Don’t say anything I wouldn’t

By indeedindeed

In a very rare occurrence, I won’t be near a computer much the next couple of days. I’ll leave forty bucks on the counter in case of emergency.

sloan hates masons in general. man is not a fan of brick work.

I heard he also think Cobblers should be put in stocks.

We don’t need sloan pontificating to us to enjoy indeedindeed. Clearly the power of this blog rests with its readers.

I’m going to take this opportunity to kick RichRod while he’s down. Good column on ESPN by LZ Granderson:

in response to ken’s linked article…

    Two things….

    First,

“Sorry, dude, when you work in the sports industry — be it as an athlete, coach, or even a lowly sports columnist — criticism comes with the paycheck. I’ve got a guy right now who e-mails me just to call me a “homo” every time I write a piece. I don’t mind, because I know that means he’s checking our Web site regularly.”

-That is why I hate the media…they write stupid shit that irritates people just to get them to read it. I understand it’s a business and the more hits they get the more money they make but it drives me crazy. Drew Sharp and Michael Rosenberg, for example…reading their stuff on freep.com makes me want to punch them both in the face…(but I still read it every day so I guess they win). I did think this was a pretty good article, though.

    Second…

    Kenny,

I wrote that same article 1 day before ESPN and with more animal sex organs mentioned right here:

my comment is awaiting moderation? am i on indeedindeed.com probation or something? wtf?

gooooooooo blueeeeeeeeeeee. manny harris is the real deal. look out.

not really, i still think we’ll be a mediocre big ten team but if we are on the bubble this will definitely help the “quality wins” argument.

    can’t hurt recruiting either.

  12. Zachary Says:

why do escalators break down so often?

why dont people use the revolving doors more oftne? its a genius invention

  13. Tyler Says:

    deep thoughts by zach juett.

Why do they call it Ovaltine? The mug is round; the jar is round… they should call it Roundtine.

  14. yorkroberts Says:

I love Ovaltine. So much better than NestleQuik.

  15. yorkroberts Says:

How about the Pistons last night?

I’m sure they’ll get it together as the season progresses (getting McDyess back won’t hurt either) but they just looked pretty lost last night.

It was probably also the fatigue from a back to back…

    Thoughts?

  16. Zachary Says:

they looked bad. ivos defnesive inability was noticeable.

i think ivo is still learning how to play with his teamates. hes more of a drive and dish, while we used to be more of a pass along perimiter type, while rips runs and get open shots. and that would create lanes for chaunce. needs to progress more. but last night shows we need work.

  17. Zachary Says:

jerry wanted me to post those questions. coffee talk style: discuss.

  18. Kenny Says:

Pistons did look terrible last night. But they looked awesome in the second half against cleveland the night before.

Since the Iverson trade they have looked beaten the Lakers and Cavs, looking really good doing it.

And they have laid 3 complete stink bombs. Two against Boston and Once against Phoenix. I think offensively they are still learning to play with Iverson, which is to be expected.

But their defense looks awful. Iverson has looked terrible on defense. Rondo completely dominated him last night.

I really don’t see this team beating either boston or cleveland in a playoff series at this point. But there is a long way to go, so maybe they will figure something out.

  19. yorkroberts Says:

Yeah. I don’t think they’ll have much trouble scoring, because Iverson is clearly a scorer, Rip is great and Sheed and tayshaun can put up some points too…

I think the main issue is going to be defense, even as the season progresses. I’m sure they’ll iron out some things but it just really seems like IVO isn’t all that committed to playing defense and really, unless Curry/Sheed/whoever can get everyone to commit to playing good defense every posession, they’ll end up being like Suns used to be (kind of), great offense and if you give up 100+ to them, you’re fucked, but if you hold them under 90, they can’t win.

Anyone read any good books lately?

Has anyone seen Quantum of Solace? I’m supposed to see it tonight, but would rather see ‘Happy Go Lucky’ and I’ve heard mixed things about Quantum.

  21. yorkroberts Says:

Revloving doors are awesome and they conserve energy (supposedly).

In Boston at Government Center T station, the escalators are always broken or rather, one of them is always being repaired. It’s weird. I’m there every day and they consistently are being fixed. I wonder how they can break so much considring most of the time people are fixing them.

  22. Zachary Says:

theres like 4 escalators broken on the ELs in chicago. all on els i use regularly. one of them sign says, “redisnging the escalator to better serve you, project completion date august 2009″ how do you redesign an escalator, it goes up, on a loop. and hows doe it take a year to do?

i recently finished johnny cashs autobiography ‘cash’ and am currently reading the rolling stone interview of john lennon. both really good and interesting. before that i read ‘devil in the white city’ awesome piece of american history, great book.

wordpress has been putting every comment with a link in the filter, very annoying.

  25. Dano Says:

Come on Zach… we all know escalators can never break… they only become stairs

  26. yorkroberts Says:

    Paul Dano is right.

And I admired his work in “there will be blood”.

  27. zachary Says:

what exactly are we going to be tasting? big ten title?

and yes dan. thats very true, naturally

  28. zachary Says:

york, just read your rich rod post. enjoyable.

  29. yorkroberts Says:

Thanks Zach. I just figure, pretty much anyone could coach the Wolverines to the same result as Rich Rod has this season, so I don’t see how he thinks he has a place to complain about the fans being rude to him. That’s part of being a public figure.
